We’ve already paid once to build this house 4 years ago and now we have paid a second time to rebuild after the tornado.

We lost our dream home 4 months after we closed on it. All we want is to rebuild our home.

These people have lost so much and if you have never been in this situation then you don’t know that this is more then emotionally and physically straining. Something like this is also expensive. Situations like this is not the time for the city/county to think they are about to make a big check. There is already tons of building happening in the city for you to make that revenue. $2500 to a natural disaster family is more to then then to the city. What you have to remember is insurances don’t pay for those. That is $2500 out of their own pockets. Keep in mind, they are still paying a mortgage on a home that was once there along with paying for a temporary place till they can get back home. So do what is right for these families and waive those fees. If families have already paid, give them back!
