Mt. Juliet Tornado Relief

The City of Mt. Juliet should waive the building permit fees for the residential owners impacted by the March 3rd, 2020 tornado.

I stand in support of the victims of the March 3rd tornado.  I hereby call upon the Mt. Juliet Board of Commissioners to waive the building permit fees for the residential owners wishing to rebuild their homes.

    As a Resident & clean up volunteer, as well as assisting home owner friends who lost everything with clean up and recovery in our beautiful town, I stand by my neighbors in asking that Permit Fees for re-building should be waived and/or refunded to those who have already paid. Understanding permits and credentialing is needed and inspections must be conducted to ensure everything is built to code, however, the monetary charges should be waived by the city in good grace of our residents who are tax payers and have incurred costs of starting over and having to rebuild their lives.

    Do what is right! Waive the fees! Now is not the time to think about generating revenue! Please also refund fees for those who have already been charged!
