Transportation Update –

Mt. Juliet Road Interstate 40 overpass widening - Finalizing the right-of-way acquisitions, the tentative letting for this project is December by TDOT (Tennessee Department of Transportation).

Lebanon Road Widening from Park Glen to Golden Bear - Transportation Report Completed, field survey work completed. Started preliminary design. Still have to develop the ROW (right of way) plans and begin utility coordination prior to acquiring property, in the process of going through permits, NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) requirements, and final plans. Likely at least three years out from construction.

South Mt Juliet Road widening - Consultant has completed the Transportation Report, completed most of the field survey work, and begun preliminary design. We still have to develop the ROW plans and start utility coordination prior to acquiring property, going through permits, NEPA requirements, and final plans. Likely at least three years out from construction.

Many more projects are pending.

Police Ride-Alongs –

I want to say thank you to the Mt. Juliet Police Department! It is so impressive to see the quality and caliber of the officers we have keeping us safe in Mt. Juliet. From traffic stops to house fires, I learn something new about the department on every ride-along, and I always leave impressed with the officers we have in Mt. Juliet. A special thank you to Officer Meador, Officer Fegan, Officer Kennedy, and Officer Stogner!

Sewer Tour -

On October 1st, Tim gave me a guided tour of the city's sewer system. Tim was kind enough to show me our wet wells, pumps, lift stations, and ozone generators. This is a first-class operation, and it largely goes unnoticed! With 3,787 manholes, over 175 miles of sewer lines in the network, 30 Lifts stations, and over 3,000 grinder pumps, this is no small operation. Currently, Public Works is in the process of revising our master plan to ensure we have the capacity for the future and for those who have yet to receive sewer service. I want to send a special thanks to Tim Forkum and the employees of Public Works who make our modern lifestyle possible.
